january's challenge

how's your january been? mine has been rough. but, it's been nice to have set goals this month. even though my shoulders have been intensely tight, the 100 push up challenge has proven a worthy opponent, especially when accompanied with the no sugar challenge. needless to say, i succeeded far better at abstaining from sugar than remembering to get all my push ups in (50 a day still ain't bad). BUT i was definitely mindful about treating my body well as i attempted to complete these goals and i hope you were too!

yoga continues to have a really positive effect in my life and practicing it daily has really made a difference for me. i have become stronger and more aware of myself--emotions, how i treat other people, etc. if you don't have a consistent yoga practice, i recommend you try it!

new challenges are coming for february, so stay tuned!

New Year Challenge

A new year brings on new resolutions, most of which have to do with weight loss or living a healthier lifestyle, but did you know only 8% of people actually follow through on those resolutions? In this Forbes article by Dan Diamond, he lays out the steps to becoming part of that 8% when it comes to our resolutions or really any goals you have in mind throughout the year!

With these steps in mind I want to set up a monthly food and physical challenge! Something small and simple that can be accomplished each month to better our bodies, and by doing so, better our minds and enrich our lives. Each month I'll post the new challenge along with ways to stick with it and maybe keep it going into the next month or even the whole year! They say it only takes 21 days to form a habit, so by the end of this year we should all have 24 new healthy habits under our belts!

January

100 push ups a day

No refined sugar
